The Boring Company plans to build tunnels in Miami

Elon Musk is at it again with The Boring Company, after the mayor of Miami announced a proposed tunnel project that will cut the quoted cost from $1 billion USD to $30 million USD. A functional $10 million USD prototype has been built in Hawthorne California, where Tesla vehicles are carried on a set of electric rails at high speeds. The goal of The Boring Company is to reduce megatons of toxic gases in addition to traffic congestion. Mayor Francis Xavier Suarez promises more details in the coming months.

Lucid Motors speaks publicly on CNBC after rumors surfaced this week about Apple Inc entering the car market. An initial target of 34 000 units, the fully-electric sedan is expected to sell for $70 000 USD along with a stretch production target of 400 000 sedans within 6 years. Peter Rawlinson leads as Lucid Motors’ ceo after previously working as a former Tesla engineer. He proclaims that Lucid can achieve a 4 mile per kilowatt-hour efficiency, giving it an edge over the likes of Mercedes and other luxury marques. The company seeks to emulate Tesla’s business model by vertically integrating both manufacturing and retail studios and expect to start deliveries towards the end of 2021.
